Educad offers 7 days per week System
Monitoring
Educad has developed on
offsite
monitoring system that does not require routine logging on to client
systems. This process is not intrusive and provides assurance to
operators, managers, directors and proprietors that the health of their
information systems is being monitored on a regular and systematic
basis. It can also enable you to cover staff shortages, leave and
temporary staffing issues. System Monitoring by Educad can be a major
component of both governance and management of Information Technology
within your organisation. All monitoring is daily, 7 days per week, 52
weeks per year.
We offer 3 System Monitoring
products: Backup Monitoring, Server Monitoring and Infrastructure
Monitoring.
Educad System Management
Our management offerings cover the time consuming tasks associated with
system management.
Many organisations do
not have the
time or, perhaps, the expertise to fully manage their IT resources. The
first resource to suffer is often the most important resource, the file
servers. Increasing pressure from regulators and increasing reliance on
this core resource makes efficient management of file servers
absolutely critical.
Server Management is
both proactive
and reactive. The starting point for Server Management is a well set
up, secured and documented system.
The proactive portion
of Server
Management is a carefully designed set of periodic activities designed
to keep your server functioning at its peak.
A core component of
Server
Management is Server Monitoring. This provides the input for reactive
activities. When Server Management is active reported errors and
warnings are acted upon as appropriate and, unless major, simply
reported to you each week. Trends in resource usage are
analysed
and, if action needs to be recommended, a Change Request is generated
for your consideration.
One of the most tedious
tasks is
user management. To ensure the success of this task we work with you to
develop new user, user change and user termination policies that can be
acted on quickly and effectively. We will execute these policies as
part of our server management process. This user management is included
in the server management charge.
The program is based on
the ITIL set
of management guidelines. In order for Server Management to be
successful we need to work with clients to put in place both Incident
Management and Change Management. We also require an agreed security
strategy, storage map and backup process. We also work through with you
a set of risk analyses for backup and an agreed action plan for
incidents. This action plan forms the basis of a complete disaster
recovery plan.
We regard your control
of your
systems as essential and will guide you through the necessary processes
so that you are able to exercise effective governance of your ICT
resources.
You own your system.
